so busy!

Time has just flown around here since the twins turned one! My parents came out that evening and I ended up fixing a cake for the girls, nothing to fancy, but they loved it! It was a butter receipe yellow cake with chocolate frosting! They sure enjoyed getting their hands in it and eating as much as they could! January 5th, we had a party for them at Cuba High School. The girls loved it b/c they could roam around and for the most party there wasn't anything they could get in to. They liked walking down the big hallways and Courtney would holler down to see if anyone answered! We fixed chili, and veggie beef soup for everyone. I made a "cupcake" cake. I had seen a "cupcake" cake from a friends pictures and thought I would try it. I think I should have left it to the pros! Oh, well. It was still fun and the girls had a good time getting into their cupcakes. The pink and purple frosting that I made slightly stained their outfits and the high chairs and even their faces! However, they were really cute! We handed out our birth announcement cards (that I was supposed to send out last year) along with cards stating that the girls were ONE!! The girls got lots of neat clothes and more toys. I can't wait to put all these cool outfits on them!
Sunday morning we went to bernedotte for breakfast, and on the way home, Sammy puked all over in the van! Once I got home I ended up with a horrible migraine and ended up in ER. That was no fun! Jason had went to work, but had to come home and help with the girls b/c I was just out of it.
Monday, I woke up and felt much better and we set out on a quest for "big girl" carseats. We went to Galesburg and then on to Peoria just to get 2 carseats! We got them home and read the instructions to install them and I am very pleased with them! They are pink and really put a splash of color in the van! Jason likes to make fun of me... but I gave him the option of not such bright pink seats and he liked these better! So, we just don't listen when he acts like it is all me that likes the pink stuff! The girls seem to like the big girls seats!
Tuesday was their one year check up. Courtney is 22lbs 9oz and Cadie is 22lbs and 4oz. Cadie is 29.25in and Courtney is 29in tall! Courtney has always been taller, so either Cadie isn't measure right or Cadie hit a growth spurt! Both girls are doing well. We decided to hold off on the MMR shot b/c all the recent controversy over the link with autism. So, next time or the time after the girls will have to get shots again! boo hoo!
