more doctor visits

Today we head out again to Peoria to take Annie to see the Pediatric Urologist. Hopefully, we will have some answers today. Since her Voiding cystogram came back negative, they are thinking the bedwetting is genetic and she will eventually out grow it. I will post what they tell us later on.

I am waiting to hear when Sammy has to go to the doctor. The school does random vision and hearing tests on the kids. Sammy's hearing test came back that he needed to be further evaluated by an actual audiologist. These tests are also followed by the health dept... so it isn't like it is a teacher or another parent deciding that the kids need to be evaluated. Also, they require a signature and these papers have to be sent back to them so they are aware that you have addressed your child's problem. They did the testing in Oct and now it is Feb and I just took him to be evaluated last week! The health dept actually called me and asked if there was a problem! "no, I am just a bad mother" is what I wanted to say! Anyway, the audiologist had a hard time getting the machine to read. She even dug the wax out of his ear and even found the old tube that he had placed when he was like 10mo old! She finally had to take him to some tympanic machine that can register through fluid. Apparently, Sammy has so much fluid build up he isn't able to hear properly. This is likly the cause of his speech problems also! I am anxious to hear what they are going to do...

I hate all these doctor visits! but they have to be done... what's a parent to do? It is even more frustrating b/c neither of them "act" sick!
Anyway, that is a brief update of today...

We had very similar problems with Teddy's hearing when he was little. Very frustrating and made me feel terrible too that I didn't know it was going on.
Glad they found it out now.
