I have been visiting other blogs and a friend of mine that I met online through a multiples group had this great idea to post why her children are named what they are and what it means... So, I am going to be a copy cat and do the same for my children... (Thanks Debi!)
For anyone who is interested, you can check out her blog... it is under "The Bouffard Family" on the right hand side of my page. She is raising 9 children, so her blog is very insightful.. not only for multiples but for managing large families... she is truely a Superwoman!
Ok... I am going to post some pics of the kids to go along with the story of them!
Jeffrey Micheal Ashwood: 15 yrs old
Jeffrey - God's Peace
Micheal - Form of Michael. Who is like God
I decided to name him Jesse, however, after seeing Jeffrey for the first time, Jesse just wasn't his name. I looked at him and I said, you look like a Jeffrey. Micheal is after my brother.
Ashwood is his father's last name. Since his dad and I weren't married at the time Jeffrey was born, I asked Jeff's dad (Bob) if he wanted Jeffrey to be an Ashwood or an Ault. So, I left the decision up to him. You can see what he chose.
Jeffrey is my child that will be destine to change the world. He is very into politics and all that is wrong with the world. He is extremely intelligent and doesn't fit in very well with kids his own age. He loves comedy and esp the blue collar comedy tour. Jason and I took him to see Bill Engvall last fall! He loved it! He is currently working on fixing up a truck to drive once he turns 16!

Annalea Ray Ault: 10yrs old
Annalea - there is no meaning found for Annalea. Truth be told, I made it up. My grandmother's name is Anna and my best friend's(Jeri) middle name is Lea. So, I put the two together and got Annalea.
Ray - short form of Raymond. Counselor (this is my dad's middle name)
Ault was my maiden name. Since I wasn't married to Annie's dad at the time she was born, and we had parted on very bad terms, I gave her my maiden name and I pulled myself up by my boot straps and got on with my life. I decide to be the best mom I could be to Annie and she changed a lot of things in my life... for the better!
Annie is my social butterfly. She could careless about school, she is there for the socializing! She is into horses and wants to be a horse trainer someday. She has energy to spare and loves to be outside!

Samuel Lee Decker, JR: 7yrs old
Samuel - asked of God
Lee - plum
I did not pick Sammy's name. Sammy and Annie have the same dad. To make a long story short, after Annie was born, I married Sam, her dad. We then had Sammy and since I had named Annie and Sam didn't have any part in it, he named Sammy. I do like the name Sammy, however, I wasn't thrilled about having a Junior.
Sammy is a mathematical wizard! Sammy is not good at reading. Sammy gets very frustrated with not being perfect at everything. He wants things to come very easy to him. Sammy does not like to get dirty, is very obedient, and has the patience of a saint! Last I knew, Sammy wanted to be an Army man. It isn't something that I could see him doing, but whatever he chooses, I hope he is happy with it.
Cadence Kay Churchill: 14mo
Cadence - Melodious
Kay - form of Katherine. pure, virginal
I picked out Cadie's name. I love the name Cadie (pronounced Kay-Dee). I got it from the movie Mean Girls. It was a favorite of Annie's and mine too! Cadie's middle name came from Jason's mom. We decided that the twins should have our mom's middle names since we were having 2 girls. Cadence was decided upon at the last minute b/c I wanted Cadie to be a nickname... not her actual name. However, I am guessing it will be rare that anyone calls her Cadence!
Courtney Sue Churchill: 14mo
Courtney - from the court
Sue - form of susan. lily
Jason picked out Courtney's name. Actually, it came about b/c one night his dad kept saying, "what about Courtney?" over and over and over again. Jason later that night asked me what I thought of the name Courtney. I liked it and that is how Courtney got her name. Since Cadie is a nickname, my family tried to nickname Courtney "couri" however, it didn't win Jason over. He prefered Courtney. The more it got said, the more it stuck. However, at times, we do call her courty.
That is the story of my children. I don't know much about Jonah's name... Jason doesn't know much either. He always says that Cathy watched a lot of veggietales and that is where she got Jonah from. His middle name came from Jason's dad.
Here is what I have found on his name...
Jonah - dove
Arthur - Noble
Hope you enjoyed reading about our children!
I have many pics to get developed from my 35mm camera from our big birthday party bash! I am definately getting more into using digital! I am hoping to get a new digital camera by May. Cuba has a sports day and I would love to have a good digital camera to capture the day!
