Courtney has also learned she can hook her toes in the gate between their 'temp' room and the kitchen... and managed to flip herself over it!
The twins have discovered the AristoCats!
Last Tuesday we picked up our Tracker (or cracker as it gets called) from Paul's Transmission and drove it home and parked it. They did about $2100 of work on the transmission! What is worse is after I bought it I kept continuing to take it back to the dealership b/c I complained that there was something wrong with the transmission! I complained bc it was hard to put into reverse and it had this high pitched whine. They told me that was normal. It wasn't NORMAL!! We also learned that it had a plug that went bad and leaked fluid... slowly and wasn't able to be detected unless they took the transmission out. Long story short... we got it back and it sounded wonderful! Better than I have ever heard it run! On Friday while John and Janice were here, we noticed that there is a paper plate size oil spot from the transmission! It is leaking oil... already! It was only driven home from Canton and parked! So, it is now back in the shop! ugh! I want to trade it off... however it has to last 1 or 2 more years. At this rate, we are going to have to drive it 10 more years to get the good out of the new parts put into the transmission. However, a new transmission for it is $4000... about the same as what we would get out of it to sell it! Can I say that I hate the cracker?
Some good news... we were approved for the loan to add on to our house. I don't know when the contractor is going to start. He said he was behind when it came to one of his many projects. I don't know if we are going to be first on the list or last or in the middle. He estimated about 3 mo to do the job. I am anxious to get it started!
more good news, JC was able to fly to Iowa not only to pick up Jonah, but the weather cooperated and he was able to fly to take him back to his mom. It is nice when he is able to fly b/c it cuts his day in half! He can leave here about 9am instead of 7am and he was home by 3p instead of getting in at 5p. Sammy even road along! It was hard for me to let "my baby" go... but I did. Oh, wait, I forgot... Sammy isn't the baby anymore... well... he was the baby for 6yrs... so to me he is the baby! He did wonderful and had a blast. I can't count how many times I told JC to be careful and extra careful and make sure that you are careful! I am sure he thought I was crazy, but he handled it well. He knows I have difficulty letting my kids out of my sight. I don't know what I will do when it comes to them going to high school and growing up!
To finish out last week, JC, Jannea (his sister) and his mom took the big kids skating. I went to my cousin's baby shower with the twins and my mom.
So, that finishes off the excitement around here. This week will be busy as well since JC is back to work and Sammy has surgery on Thursday and Annie has a field trip Friday. I am thinking of teaching her how to use the old digital to take pics with and then I can go through them and save only the good ones! Hmmm... do I trust a 10y/o with a digital camera on a long trip where I won't be???
