They have various events that the kids are able to pick from and they spend all day long in athletic competition. I hated Sports Day as a child, however, I love to see my children excell in it.
One of our greatest challenges is trying to keep the twins occupied while we are watching events or waiting for events to begin. The twins love to cheer on their siblings and get so excited over any of the kids doing well.
Anna is normally very good at the running events. Since this is Sammy's first year, I wasn't sure how he would do. He is more laid back and not athletic (like his mother).
Anna's events were:
75m dash, 100m dash, and 400m dash
Crab Ball
Jump Rope
Limbo
Football Pass
Sammy's events were:
Tug-of-War
Obstacle Course
Limbo
Baseball Throw
40m dash, 200m dash
I am not sure what place they got for the events they participated in. They give out ribbons for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. They are having their awards ceremony on Thursday at 9am. I am anxious to attend to see how the kids did. I know that Sammy got 1st place in the 40m dash (in the heat he ran in, but I don't know how he did overall).
The downside to Sports Day this year is that I got bit by a bug under my right eye and it swelled almost shut. I had to go to ER and miss work and have 2 shots and be put on antibiotics and steroids. So not fun and once again... I am still having issues with Sports Day! LOL
