Father's Day

Father's Day started off with Jason sleeping in. We planned a cookout for 2p and I let him sleep in as late as he wanted. He didn't get up til 10a... and the girls were so glad once he got up. It seemed that Courtney was waiting on her daddy so she could go to sleep. Once Courtney was asleep Jason laid her down and then it was Cadie's turn to sit with Daddy. Jason then helped me to get everything ready for our cookout. I made a fruit and veggie tray and dips for each. The dips I did on Saturday, so I just had to cut up the fruit and veggies on Sunday. I thought my trays turned out very well! Jason swept the floor and extended our table out. We were ready for guests. About 2p, his parents showed up, my parents, his aunt Cheryl and uncle Doug, my aunt Cindy, my Grandma, and my aunt Carol all were here for the party. Shortly after everyone arrived, then we got slammed with a storm. We were watching it closely as it seemed to be a bad storm rolling in. However, it passed in about a half-hour and then our party continued. Jason had to cook the hamburgers in the garage, but overall it was a nice party! After supper, my mom began making homemade icecream. Aunt Cindy decided to rock Cadie... Cadie has a way of putting someone to sleep when she goes to sleep!
The ice cream got done and we were all sitting outside eating our ice cream! I had to get a picture of Jason and his dad. I gave them all t-shirts as for their father's day gifts. Jason's said "world's greatest DAD" (I got green camo, and he teased me that he was surprised it wasn't in PINK! I told him he was lucky I couldn't find PINK b/c otherwise I would have bought it for him!) John's shirt said "Grandpa's my name, Spoiling is my game!" My dad's shirt said "property of Grandpa... offical weekender shirt"he liked his shirt, but it wasn't as good as the year I gave him the ice cream maker! Courtney and Cadie have since learned how to ride the scooters. Courtney sure has fun going for rides. This was the first time Courtney had ever been on the 4-wheeler. Every time Jason would stop Courtney would try to turn the key or make the 4-wheeler to go! She did not want him to stop! When we finally had to give up and go inside, Courtney REALLY wasn't happy!
Cadie was so tired, she didn't care that she was missing out on all the fun! I think it was a great Father's day! Good Food, Good People... can't get any better than that!
