Thursday-
Annie had 2 ballgames back to back starting at 6p. My dad went to the game and watched her until we were able to make it to the very last inning. Annie left messages with her father for him to come watch her play. He never called or showed up. When Jason and I were coming into town, we noticed his car at the gas station. I was in hopes that he had been to the game, but he hadn't. Annie is disappointed, although she continues to be hopefull about her father.
Friday-
Annie made it her personal quest to talk to her father. She was in hopes he would take her and Sammy to the carnival again. I had promised the kids I would take them Saturday as Jason and I was both working on Friday. Since we were working, Annie started early Friday to reach her father. After calling his home phone, his cell phone, his girlfriends cell phone, and his parents house... she never talked to anyone and no one called her back the entire day. I spent Friday evening consoling her and explaining that it is not her fault or mine that her father never returned her call. She cried, she moped, she was moody and even at times blames me for her father's lack of calling or involvement. Even though I am thankful every time Annie and Sammy's father is not involved, it breaks my heart to watch someone so blatently hurt my child. I am thankful Jason is a great Dad...
Construction note- the mason got done with the block wall to the basement.
they managed to work around the pipe on the south wall. It is all coming together now!
Saturday-
Sammy got up early and immediately started crying. This is very uncharacteristic of him and upon investigating what was wrong... he had a fever of 101.3F. I gave him Advil and began my typical inspection... one look at his throat told me exactly what was causing his distress. Yep, you guessed it, Strep Throat! I took Sammy to the convient care clinic where the rapid strep test confirmed my thoughts and he was put on zithromax for 5days. Sammy's last ballgame was in Fairview, but he missed it due to being sick. John and Janice were on hand to help with the kids since Jason and I both worked Friday and we had to both work Saturday and we had plans to attend the carnival in Cuba.
With Sammy being sick, he wasn't able to go to the carnival. He stayed with my mom. He was still running a temp of 102.1 even after taking Advil. He was sad to miss the carnival, but he slept most of the evening. The girls kept me busy at the carnival between the merry-go-round
*Erin and Jen graciously took pictures for me so I have some of us on the merry-go-round*
and the cars...We seen many friends and got to visit with a lot of people we don't get to see on an every day basis. One of my friends, Jen and her little girls love to hang out with my kids. This is Emma on the far side in the frontseat of the car with Cadie and Courtney in the backseat.
I think Emma was more interested in the girls than the actual ride, but all the girls sure had a blast riding the little cars!
On a construction note, our contractor was out and put sealer on the walls to our basement. I am not sure what is in store for this upcoming week... I know our siding should be here this week. Our new couch should be delievered this week. The framing for the new addition should start this week. We still have a long way to go on the construction, but we are making progress!
Sunday-
We had a family reunion today for the Widger side. This is my Grandpa's family and they decided to have a big gathering to celebrate all the family members who had a "0" birthday.
That is the recap to our busy weekend! I am sure this week will be just as busy with the festivities of the 4th coming up! Jonah will also be here this coming Saturday and staying for a while! I wonder how much more stuff we can cram into our summer! LOL

Poor Sammy! He looks terrible! I sure hope he gets to feeling better & the others don't come down w/ it. I feel for him & Anna... their dad needs smacked for treating them that way. At least there are so many other people who LOVE spending time w/ them. They're always welcome here as we have a blast w/ all the kids!
