Getting to Know Yule...

Getting to know all about yule...

Since this quiz has floating the past few days through the email world, thought it'd be worth getting to know all of "yule" a little bit better by making it a merry meme!

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Paper normally.

2. Real tree or Artificial? Fake all the way! Actually, I want one that is pre-lit... as ours isn't! However, JC is fondly attached to the one we have, so I continue to string the lights... year after year...

3. When do you put up the tree? Normally, whenever I have time off.
Though, I think I am going to start trying for the weekend after Thanksgiving!

4. When do you take the tree down? If I had a place to store it in tact... I would do that! However, since I don't and everything has to get packed away... I think the latest has been sometime in mid-February.

5. Do you like eggnog? NOPE.

6. Favorite gift received as a child? This is tough, I have lots... I got a teddybear once named CryBaby that is still very dear to my heart.

7. Hardest person to buy for? toss up between my dad or JCs dad.

8. Easiest person(s) to buy for? the twins! they will be more interested in the wrapping paper than the gifts that are wrapped!

9. Do you have a nativity scene? Technically, no. Though, I found window clings of a nativity scene and they are proudly displayed on patio door!

10. Mail or email Christmas cards? normally homemade and through the mail... but I am short-cutting this year and they are photocards.

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? the worst gift to me (and it doesn't personally have to do with me) is when Annie gets handed a birthday gift wrapped in Christmas paper... or gets told "this is for your bday AND Christmas"... would people do that if her bday was in July? She doesn't seem to ever care, but I seem to be sensitive for her!

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" the cartoon, not the one with Jim Carrey

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Usually, sometime in November... but it always seems I am doing last minute shopping too!

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Not that I remember... but I have returned stuff before. As, I would hope people would do the same if I gave them a gift they didn't want.

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? so many choices... peanut butter balls are one of my favs. I only make them at Christmas time and they are so delicious!

16. Lights on the tree? multi-colored and lots of them!

17. Favorite Christmas song? So many great songs... Silent Noc, Silver Bells, and Away in the Manger... to name a few off the top of my head!

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? I love to stay home... but we do make family appearences. At least our family all lives close and so we don't have to travel very far!

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? I think so...

20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Star... but I want the angel my parents used on their tree when I was a child (they still don't let me touch it b/c of the fiberglass wires that are on it)!

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Christmas Day. Christmas Eve is Annie's Birthday and we attend Christmas Eve services.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? Lack of Christmas spirit...

23. Favorite ornament theme or color? Love our Hallmark ornaments that are so special to each of us... Annie has Barbies, JC has the airplanes, I have nurse, mom or daughter ornaments. Sammy has a collection of trucks, cars or whatever he desires for that year. All my children have the 'age' series. I love our mis-matched collection and ones the kids have made in school. I even have some I made from 1986!

24. Favorite for Christmas dinner? One year, we had soups... chili, veggie beef, plus cheeses, crackers, wine, candy and all kinds of desserts! That was the best!

25. What do you want for Christmas this year? My list is so long... of course there is always Peace, Love and Happiness for all. A cure for Cancer wouldn't be too much to ask. But, I guess if I can't aquire all those, then simply, I posted my list here. Manly, I just want to watch my kids open their gifts and feel the warmth and magic of the season.

Okay, consider the snowball thrown your way! Head over to Twinfatuation and then copy and modify the above answers and play along so we will all get to know a little more about "yule"!!

Don't ya just love putting everyone's ornaments on the tree? We've all got our own collections, too... I've got some from every year starting with my first Christmas. I just love the collage we have on our tree b/c they are all special to each one of us. I hope you get everything you wished for this year!
