Big Changes

Every since we came home from vacation, Courtney has been climbing out of her crib.
She manages to do it without getting hurt. However, since this is a safety issue, we decided we would go ahead and covert her crib to a toddler bed....

As we were converting Courtney's bed and we called the girls into their room to see the new change... Cadie started saying "do that Cadie's bed!"
So we caved...

We converted Cadie's bed as well! Normally, the girls are very good about going to their rooms and once put in their cribs, laying down and going to sleep. Sometimes here lately, naps have been a little challenging and they have to be told more than once to go to sleep... but overall they are very good about naps and bedtime.
I was hopeful that after converting the cribs they would go in their beds and lay down.
Boy was I wrong!
Naptime yesterday was spent with them running into the bathroom flushing the toilet, sneaking into brother's room and my room and giggling the whole time!
Finally, I shut all the hallway doors, locked the bathroom door and put them back in their beds with strict orders not to get out OR ELSE!!
They did finally settle down and nap.
Bedtime went a little smoother. Though, they had big brother's help. Sammy went in and slept on their floor. So, they went right to bed having big brother right there with them! Im thinking I might bribe Sammy into doing this again tonoc just to make sure they have the hang of going to bed at noc!
For the last 2 yrs, I have put up every barrier possible to contain my little tornados... er... I mean the twins... now the barriers are coming down. Its a new change ... a BIG change for us... rather me!
Right before vacation, we removed the gate to our stairwell. The girls go up and down steps very well. However, our main concern is what they will find to get into. We thought we would try it...

...the gate is down. However, all the hardware is still in the wall... just in case! Some days goes really well... other days, I think I need to put the gate back up! The girls still don't listen as well as I had hoped, but Im trying!
Im hoping this is the only changes we have for a little while!
Change isn't something I do very well!

We had to so the same last week - convert to toddler beds. The first few days were tough, but we are getting the hang of it.
