Christmas Eve

Such a magical time of year! Jason and I spent the day preparing for family activities tonight. We had some last minute errands to do, which he did and I stayed home with Cadie and Courtney. Annie and Sammy returned from their dads in time to go to Christmas Eve services. I was very impressed by the children's behavior in church. They sat there and participated and were very well behaved. My Grandma plays the piano for church and I loved singing all the Christmas songs. The twins stayed home and enjoyed attention from Pam Churchill, Grandma Janice, Jani Johnson, Sarah Churchill and Jacey Johnson. After church, my parents came over to have our little Christmas together. It was really nice and I think the kids really got a lot of gift that they really liked! Jeffrey was a very good big brother and he bought each of the kids their own gifts. He got Sammy and Jonah cars that are remote controlled. They loved them and spent the rest of the evening racing them. He got the twins some blocks to play with and Anna got something neat also. My parents got the twins baby dolls that are designed for little ones, they loved them and would carry them around and love on them and kiss them! They also got the twins Harley outfits and cell phones just for them! Jonah got a spongebob pillow, hot wheels and a car carrier with a launcher. Sammy got his nintendo DS that he has so desperately wanted for so long and a game to go with it. Annie got her Techno horse and some neat black lace up boots. They all got banks that count money and have their names on them.

In the craziness of Christmas Eve, I think it got missed that Annie actually turned 10 today. I just can't even think of her as being 10!! She is turning into quite the young lady. She weighs about 90lbs and wears a size 8 womens shoe! She is only about 6inches shorter than I am. I will guess that she will be taller than me in another couple of years!

On a personal note, I got a Christmas card today that I will cherish forever. It was from Gene and Connie Lockard. For those who don't live around here and know who Gene Lockard is, he is a local photographer and he has taken our family pictures for years. His card that he sent to me said... "Dear Christy, Thank you so much for your loving care of my Dad this past year and for 'being there' at the end when we needed you most. Your concern and compassion will always be remembered! We love you! Gene and Connie"

I had to hold back tears when reading it. I can't put into words how this made me feel. I am so honored that they appreciated my care.

What a beautiful card and how wonderful that you were able to be there for a family you cared for in the end.
Such precious gift it is to share the last moments of someone's life...
