awards

The kids did get some awards for academics and sports day activities.
Annie got an award for getting 1st place from a poster design for the soldiers and sailors reunion. Every June we have a carnival that comes to town for the soldiers and sailors reunion and it is always lots of fun. I have just as much fun now as I did when I was a kid.
Annie designed this poster (I haven't even seen it yet) but it will be on display during the carnival. I will get a picture of it then. This is her and Nelly, Nelly got 2nd place for her poster that she designed. This is the only picture I have from awards day. *Thank goodness for my best friend Jennifer! She took the other pics and sent them to me! Her pics were much better! Thanks Jen!!!* The other award that Annie got was for academic excellence. She had a 3.0 and better all year. That is a "B" avg. I am very proud of her!
Annie has always struggled with school. Annie is very atheletic and likes to be on the go more than she likes to study or do school work. My grandma has been tutoring her and helping her with her homework every day after school. I owe my Grandma a lot as if it wasn't for her, Anna would not have gotten this award!

Sports Day awards,
Sammy got 2nd place in the 40m dash. Since they time them and there was 2 heats, the other kid who won in the other heat must have beat Sammy by a few seconds. However, I am very pleased he did get 2nd place. He also got an award for being a Math Whiz! Which, he is... Sammy can rattle off answers to math questions faster than anyone I know!
Annie got 2nd place in the 75m dash and the football pass.
She got 3rd place in the 100m dash and jumping rope.

I was very impressed, esp since I have no athletic talent what-so-ever!
