sneak peak

well... before I give you the sneak peak on our construction...
I just wanted to let my readers know that Tuesday had her surgery. The doctors found the tumor, and another one on her vena cava (large vein running to the heart). The are giving her a 75% chance of recovery. She will have to under go chemo, and radiation and will be in and out of the hospital for the next year. They also put her in a study group under her doctors recommendaton. Please continue to pray for this little girl!

ok now for the sneak peek! So, today the drywallers were back and they were taping and mudding their joints. I stayed out of their way, so I don't have any pics of the new part since it is mudded. They will be back tomorrow and will finish up with the mudding. It is really coming along now and looks more and more like actual rooms... I can see us living in this space and I am so anxious!
Gary, our contractor, told me he got the new windows cut on the north side and so I went up for a quick peek and then had to retreat downstairs! Annie has decided she is giving up her room and is taking the boys old room. This is fine by me, the boys room is smaller by 1 foot, but she believes it to be warmer than her room. So, that means that my crafts will go in her old room! I like that as now it has 2 windows in it and it is so bright and will be so nice to work in...
you can barely see the new window back behind the boys bunk beds... but they too have a new window in their new room! I will have lots more pics once everything is done... you can't even imagine the change! My cousin, Mark Corsaw was here measuring for a hardwood floor. He is part owner in Corsaw sawmill. He has lived in this area all his life. This house was built when he was quite small and he has seen it many times. When he walked in and measured, he asked us what was the new part and what was the old part! That tells us that our contractor has done an excellant job of matching the old to the new and it looks as though this addition was always here! yeah!

While the drywallers were doing their thing and Gary was putting in windows, the girls and I were playing around with their sunglasses. They bring their sunglasses to me 500 times in a day to put them on them. As soon as they are on... they take them off again! We do this over and over and over again! Now you know why I am tired! Here are some pics from our sunglasses fashion show....
Cadie was doing her "so pretty"... the girls will rub their hands down their cheeks when you ask them who is 'so pretty'?
Cadie was checking out Courtney... seeing what she looked like.... Court looks like she is saying..."whatcha talkin about Cadie?" My girls are such hams...
After sitting home all day, we headed out to the county fair tonight. They were having their annual scrambles. They do candy scrambles for the very young kids (we didn't make it in time for this event) and then they have rabbit and duck scrambles for the 4, 5, and 6 y/olds. Then they have pig scrambles for 7 thru 12 y/olds. They also have calf scrambles, but you have to be a member of 4H to get in on those. Sammy did not want to do the pig scramble! He managed to luck out and they had plenty of rabbits and ducks and so they did a special scramble for the 7 and 8 y/olds that didn't want to do the pig scramble. Sammy didn't catch anything, but his cousin Wyatt got a duck, his friend Jonathan got a rabbit and his other friend Hannah got a rabbit as well... Sammy was so bummed... he really wanted a duck! Maybe next year! While Jason and I were waiting for the scrambles to start, we stopped and admired Gene Lockard's photo booth... Of course, our ulterior motive being that the twins 1 yr picture is on display! I really wanted to get a picture of Connie and Gene next to it... I am hoping they will be there tomorrow night so I can get their picture as well! I just adore them! They have been very good to me and my family and have always done many portraits for us!
After the scrambles, the girls wanted to ride some rides... they really love the cars... and the merry-go-round...
yes that is me and Cadie on the merry-go-round. Rare occurance! I am normally the one holding the camera...
This is Courtney and Annie! Annie still loves the merry-go-round and I think she took Courtney just so she could ride it and not have to waste a ticket on it! Then the last ride of the night was the big slide. This is a huge favorite of all of the kids. However, the little girls were out of tickets, so just Annie and Sammy went... after all of this... we were TIRED!! Tomorrow is another early day of construction... I have to go practice CPR... so I will miss the construction tomorrow and just get to see the progress that was made!
