Driving along...

Do you know the worst thing you can see in the middle of the road as you are driving along?

yep that is right... A COW!

Jason and I was driving home late Monday noc and I woke to Jason screaming and tries scretching to see us just miss the rear-end of a COW!
For anyone who doesn't know what a cow can do... COWs on a roadway will kill someone on a motorcycle, do extensive damage to a vehicle, and cost the farmer that owns one to pay out millions in a lawsuit! Many of our roadways are not lit by streetlights, so often all we have is what our headlights give us. Deer will always turn (and sometimes run) towards noise. Cows do not. They stand in the road like a brick wall! Jason and I got lucky b/c we did not hit the cow. After we calmed down, I told him we couldn't keep driving, we had to contact someone to get it off the road so that no one was killed or seriously injured by hitting it. As it ended up, we were close to where my husband works and apparently the company leases land to farmers. So, we called his friend Brian, who is in charge of conservation for Ameren. Brian came out and ran her into a field and locked the gate. Hopefully, she was the only escapee!

On Wednesday the twins turned 20mo. It is so hard for me to realize that they are almost 2. It is beyond my comprehension in my brain that they are on a fast track to being 2 yrs old! It has been a wild ride so far! In the beginning, we routinely fed, changed, bathed and fed and changed some more! Now, we are doing 3 meals a day, whatever the rest of us are eating. We do snacks once or twice a day. They are no longer on bottles (haven't been for a while now) and we are getting ready for potty training. I often have people ask me now if it is easier now than when they were babies. My answer is NO. It is not easier for me now. I love their independence, but when they were babies, I didn't have to worry about them climbing on to everything. When they were babies, my main worry was feeding 2 babies at the same time. Now, I have to watch that one doesn't run in one direction while the other takes off in the opposite direction!
I love, no... I LOVE having twins! The chaos, the double diaper duty, twice the kisses and shopping for 2. I wouldn't trade it for the world! I am glad that I was older when I had them so I have been able to be home with them and enjoy them. I enjoyed my other children, but I worked for a large part of their childhood and it seems like I blinked and they were school-age children! Annie is over half-way to adulthood! With the twins, I have been the primary one to take care of them. It has been a wonderful blessing!

On a side note... for my readers that follow the story of Tuesday who has neuroblastoma... Please visit her site to gain the most up-to-date information on how she is doing! We got our Tuesday shirts today, so look for us this coming Tuesday for "two for TWO-sday"
