Rob Wilson Benefit

Yesterday was the Rob Wilson Benefit. Rob is suffering from ALS (Lou Gerhigs disease), you can read more about it here.

We went on the poker run with our good friends, Charlie and Jen. We had a blast! The ride started out at the goosepit (which, we didn't make it there). Thanks to Charlie and Jen, they got us signed up and we caught up with them at the Farmington stop.

We went from Farmington to Avon...

Look at all the bikes at Avon...

Parked along both sides of the street (even some were parked down another street)...

We took off from Avon and headed to Marietta. Charlie and Jen pulling out.

We had discussed which route to take to get to Marietta from Avon. None of us knew a good paved back road to cut off main highways from Avon to Marietta. We knew parts of a route... which lead to us getting turned around and taking more time to figure out how to make it to Marietta than what it should have. But it was interesting to say the least! Parts of the roads we were on made it very interesting!
More bikes at the Marietta stop...

Next was Lewistown (which was a quick stop as we were running out of time)...

Lewistown has some nice curves going in and out of town and they are down in a low spot... pretty cool when you are on a bike...you actually feel the temperture changes as you are riding along. Some spots are hot, some are cold...

Going into Cuba... JC...

JC and me... motorcycles do horrible things to long hair and girls with bangs. Not to mention how hard it is to hold a camera out away from you as you ride down the road...

Lots of Harley's at Cuba...

More bikes (I love seeing a whole bunch of bikes all in a row...)

We stopped in for a small visit at Cuba and then we were headed back to Canton where the end of the run was...

Once we got to Canton, we turned in our papers and we drew out 6 cards to make up our poker hand. I had 2 kings, a queen, 2 tens and an 8. I don't know what kind of hand that is but I ended up with 50some points. The highest between JC, Charlie and Jen and I. Far as I know though, I didn't win anything! But, we were just out to enjoy the beautiful day and have a great ride!

We didn't stay at the benefit long b/c JC had to go to work at 5p. My dad brought our car in and JC went on to work. My dad and I took off on the Harley and he brought me home. The Harley actually belongs to my dad now, but it use to be ours. We sold it to my dad at an exceptional price... so now we have to ask to borrow it in order to go on poker runs like we did yesterday! Thankfully, my dad is a very sharing person and doesn't mind us taking the bike for the afternoon!

I don't know how much money was raised by the benefit, but there were lots of bikes on the poker run and lots of people at the benefit. I sure hope that enough was raised for what Rob needs. Though I don't know him as well as I know his children, but I do know they are wonderful people and very well respected.
May God Bless you and yours

day at the park

My friend Jen and I decided we needed a break from sick kids, laundry and general housework! We made a plan to meet for lunch and then decided to take the girls to the park.

We at lunch at Monical's pizza and the girls enjoyed having suckers afer they were all done eating.

I think this is the best picture of Jen and Emma...
you can see how much she adores being a mom!
At the park, the three of them love playing together...

Cadie wasn't too sure about the wiggly bridge...

Courtney really wasn't sure about going across the wiggly bridge...

I love it when the three of them all decide they are doing something together...

One last time down the slide before we had to go...
