Way Back When-sday

For this When-sday, I got lucky enough to have one of Jason's cousin's post pics from days gone by on her facebook page.

I loved going through the old pics! I have known Jason's family for as long as I can remember. His Grandma and my Grandma were best friends. I even worked with Jason's Grandma at a nursing home years and years ago! So, I loved going down memory lane and looking at the pics Jacey had posted! Thanks Jacey!

Im going to guess this pic is from 1985 or 1986...

Jason, Jannea, Janice and John.

When I first posted this pic, I did it bc I liked it. Jason and I got to talking b/c I thought I recognized the farm in the background. Which, I did. However, there is more to this picture than meets the eye... and more than the farm in the background.
This pic was taken before John and Janice left to join the mission. They had someone take this picture, prints were made and handed out. In this day and age of technology, that is easy to do. However, back in 1986... it took a little more work than what it does now-a-days.
Now that I know the history behind this picture, it is even more meaningful to me.

Join in the fun and play along with Twinfatuation and show off your way back photos!

Happy Birthday Hubby

Today is my hubby's birthday!
Too bad he had to work all day!
However, once he came home, I had supper ready and his parents were here!

Shortly after supper, we had cake and ice cream...

Look at all those candles!
Whew...

Got all of them blown out (took 2 breaths though)!

The girls eating ice cream....

and cake! It was so yummy!
The girls...

and Grandpa J.
Sammy...
eating cake... and later on ice cream!
I missed getting pics of Grandma J and Annie... they were here too to help JC celebrate too!
JC said it was a great birthday... that is what every wife LOVES to hear!
Special Thank you to Grandma J and Grandpa J for helping with the girls while I got everything together!

Diabetes Walk at Lakeland Park

Today was the first ever Diabetes walk at Lakeland Park in Canton, IL. Walks in the past have been held in Peoria and even Bloomington... but never Canton. Thanks to Terrah Cornell, she managed to get a walk organized for Canton! I hope we had a big enough turn out that it will be held there every year!

I feel this walk is very important b/c I know so many people who are affected by diabetes every year! My grandma is a diabetic and has been for about 40yrs. Terrah, the coordinator, is also diabetic and has been for 27yrs (and she is my age)! Terrah's sister, is a diabetic. Terrah's mom was a diabetic and died at a very young age... which is where they got the team name from "Linnea's Legacy".

When we first got there, we got registered. Next was lunch. They had lots of treats and snacks there for us to eat. Courtney really enjoyed the pizza...

Grandpa J and Grandma J were there to help with the girls and walk for a good cause...

Madison was pushing Cadie around in the stroller so we could finish eating our lunch...

Mackenzie pushed Courtney around in her stroller...

Rhonda B. was there with her adorable grandbaby! Rhonda works at the school with Gma J...

This is my dear friend Kay. Kay keeps me sane. Kay is so generous to everyone! Kay hates it when I whip out my camera and try to take her pic!

Cadie decided she was "flying" as we were walking...

Mackenzie put Courntey to sleep as she walked with her...

No getting Cadie to sleep....

Since Courtney was asleep, I decided to load them up in the van and take them home. Kind of cut my walk short, but by time I was home, I could have used a nap too!
