Way Back When-sday

In honor of the girls turning 2....

Me and my dad... on my 2nd birthday

I also added a pic of the girls...

we recently had a debate about if I had more hair at 2 than Cadie does at 2. The answer is clearly... YES. I had more hair than Cadie!

However, we both pale in comparison to Courtney and her long curly locks.

Two for Two-sday

It is Tuesday again and though I have been very busy around here lately, I wanted to share this picture with you...

This is 'bop-pa' and Cadie Kay.

My dad has always been known as 'papa' when my kids were little (and couldn't say grandpa). Sammy and Annie, at times, will still call him 'papa'! Cadie learned early on that saying 'papa' came with great rewards! However, in learning how to talk, she calls him "bop-pa"!

When I drive down their lane to their house... Cadie starts about half way past the neighbors and yells.... "bop-pa" "baaaawwww-pa" "baaaaaawww-PA!!"

When grandpa comes out, Cadie goes running and loves to sit and be cuddled! She actually sat there until she went to sleep the day the picture was taken! She has actually thrown a fit before to leave with "bop-pa" and gets rather mad when told she can't!

'Bop-pa' keeps telling her one of these days she will be big enough to go with him. Grandpa feels pretty confident when they are about 3 to take them by himself... but I don't know that he will ever be brave enough to take on both the girls at the same time!

When we were visiting my parents last week, I snapped this picture of Cadie and my dad...

I just love this picture it and I will treasure it for always, as I know Cadie will too!

Sammy has stitches!

Friday was a big day for us. It was our homecoming and the kids were in the parade. Amazingly, I don't have one picture of them! I spent my time running the video camera! Somedays, I sure wish I had 4 arms!
I am sure my best friend Jen will either send me pics or have them here. Jen to the rescue! Thanks Jen!!!

This is my dad's truck...

Sammy was throwing candy from the back and my oldest son was sitting in the passenger seat throwing out candy...

We had lots of fun at the parade, the 3 little girls sure had a blast picking up candy!

Annie got to ride her dad's horse in the parade and she sure thought she was big stuff! I am so proud of her.
This is a huge accomplishment to be able to handle a horse in a parade!

I am so glad that she got to ride in the parade and that Lucky did so well!

After the parade was over, Annie and Sammy went with their grandparents and Jason and I came home. About the time I was getting ready to go to the game and Jason had left for work, I got a call that Sammy got hurt from Diana, his dad's girlfriend!
My aunt and my mom went out to see if he was ok. Which, he was, but he needed to have stitches. My aunt brought him to me, my M-I-L came and sat with the twins and my aunt and I took Sammy to ER.

He was very brave, didn't even cry. First, they cleaned it, then they put stuff on it to constrict the blood vessels. After the TACK had time to set up, the doctor came in and with a very tiny needle, put 6 stitches in Sammy's forehead. I had Sammy hold my hands and my aunt had him count... he got up to about the 130's and the procedure was all done! Dr. Hemp even told him to come back anytime to be stitched he was such a good patient!

Since Sammy did such a good job, he got to go to McDonald's and eat. Once we got home he settled into the couch and went right to sleep. I think it was a big day for us all.

Way back When-sday

For this very special way back When-sday, I have selected a picture that I think really captures what a great Dad my dad is!

This was my sister's graduation from high school...

If you didn't know my family, you would think this is a picture of me and my siblings with my dad.

Well, you would be about 1/2 correct.

My sister is Penny (the one in the grad gown). My brother is Mike (the only other boy in the pic besides my dad). They are from my dad's first marriage. Their mom's name is Ellen. My mom is Sue (not pictured). I am the one with dark hair.

Are you wondering who the little blonde girl is standing next to me with the big smile?

Well, that is Lynne. She is my brother and sister's other sister. confused? Her mom is Ellen... but her dad is Allen (not my dad... who is Gordon).

Can you imagine how much fun I have with this... my brother and sister have a sister that is not my sister.... LOL

Anyway, Lynne wanted to be in the picture with all of us. Which, is fine. My family was always very accepting and rolled with the punches. They wouldn't have ever singled Lynne out and told her she couldn't be in the pictures. I think that is what makes my dad a great dad... he was very accepting. There were times when Penny was babysitting Lynne that she would come and we got to play together. I always enjoyed having someone else to play with and we are only a few months apart in age!

Way Back When-sday

I have been going through old pictures since we are slowly rearranging our house now that our construction is done...

I came across this photo and I love the expression on my dad's face...

he looks like he is holding on to the moment forever!

I love my dad, and we still talk every day... he still would do anything for me... he is always there whenever I need him.

I LOVE YOU, DAD!

now hurry on over to twinfatuation to play along!

Canton Friendship Festival Parade

Jason and I was talking about the Canton Friendship Festival Parade the other day. I stated how I had very vivid memories of attending this parade even as a young child and how much I do enjoy even now going to watch it every year!
Here are some pics of the girls watching the parade...

Papas friend/neighbor Bill Bills on his tractor in the parade....
Papa went to the parade with us as Daddy is out of town and it just helps to have an extra set of hands when there are 2 toddlers...
I had to take a picture of this horse, unfortunately, I waited til it was past the post and I don't have the best shot of it... but it was all dressed up for Halloween...
After the parade was over, we came home, we were all tired after hustling to get around to go to the parade. Cadie's crashed out...
Courtney is down for the count as well...

I have to put in a note that last noc we went to the North Fulton Wildcats football game. It was the first time playing on the new field! Unfortunately, their opponents was Stark County. I think they were the team that beat us last year in the playoffs. North Fulton was 3-0 on their season until last noc. Stark County beat us 21-7.
The girls did pretty good for most of the game... they would clap and cheer when everyone else was clapping and cheering! Courtney...

However, they got restless quickly...
and after trying to keep them entertained... we left at half-time!

we did enjoy going to the game and I hope we get to go to many, many more games...
